Teacher of Science Full-Time, Long-Term Opportunity
Location: Watford
Salary: £34,398 £ 46,839 (MPS/UPS, depending on experience)
Start Date: February 2026
We are pleased to be supporting a well-established secondary school in Watford that is known for its high academic expectations, inclusive ethos, and strong pastoral support. Due to continued growth within the department, the school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from February 2026
. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers seeking a supportive and well-resourced setting.
You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons that inspire curiosity and analytical thinking. The ability to teach a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Plan and teach practical and theoretical lessons that engage all learners
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes scientific enquiry
- Monitor progress through assessment and provide clear, actionable feedback
- Support students in preparation for GCSE examinations
- Contribute to curriculum development and shared resources
- Promote STEM learning through enrichment activities and clubs
- Take an active role in the wider life of the school
- Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (strong unqualified candidates considered)
- Has experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education
- Uses creative, inclusive teaching approaches
- Maintains high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply
- A welcoming and collaborative Science department
- Modern laboratories and high-quality teaching resources
- Ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities
