Supply Desk are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Rickmansworth, starting this September. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and is committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with pupils, adapting their approach to meet individual learning and emotional needs while encouraging confidence, independence, and participation. Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
- Adapt resources and learning strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
- Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting pupils.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and families.
- Understanding of a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs, is advantageous.
- A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
