As MWH Treatment’s service to its client, Thames Water, continues to flourish into AMP8, we are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Principal Mechanical Engineer. Based in the Thames Water region (Maple Lodge office), you will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Mechanical).
Our challenging programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes, is expected to be in the region of £400M.

Key responsibilities will include:
Essential experience and knowledge include:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles: structures, materials, hydraulics, environmental engineering.
- Knowledge of water and sewage treatment principles.
- Experience managing staff in designing water and sewage treatment plant aspects.
- Membership of a professional institution / chartered status.
- Relevant engineering degree.
- Ability to produce rationalized, economical plant layouts.
- Broad knowledge of water treatment aspects: mechanical, process, electrical engineering, and project management.
- Knowledge of roles under CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Familiarity with industry standards (BS, WIMES, BSRIA, etc.) and HSE regulations (PUWER, LOLER, PSSR 2000, DSEAR, etc.).
- Understanding of relevant water regulations (Water Quality, DWI).
- Flexible mindset with the ability to process large amounts of data.
- Effective presentation skills for technical proposals.
- Computer literacy.
- Driving license.
