We are looking to strengthen our Proposals team with a Proposal Engineer based at Maple Lodge with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Framework Pre-Construction Lead and your role will cover the Management, co-ordination and timely preparation of tenders for civil, process and MEICA Engineering works in accordance with individual clients requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and co-ordinate timely preparation of tenders for civil, process and MEICA Engineering works in accordance with individual clients requirements
- Manage company / client interface and relationships.
- Manage tender development costs.
- Manage company risk associated with each tender.
- Manage external stakeholders associated with projects.
- Manage JV partnership relationships and development of team ethics.
- Manage tender strategy.
- Encourage, manage and develop sub-ordinates and colleagues within the departmental function.
- Manage feedback from contract close out meetings, change requests and clients to enable a more tailored approach. Useful feedback inputted in the KM system for future reuse.
- Co-ordination of design disciplines / participation in design to allow production of information for enquiry / estimating purposes.
- Preparation/co-ordination of estimates for civil and MEICA Engineering works.
- Monitor tender plan resource estimate against tender costs/progress and report savings/deficiencies to the manager.
- Monitor tender progress against tender preparation programme and report savings/deficiencies to line manager.
- Ensure procedures, including risk and governance processes, are followed, documented and correct authorisations are in place.
- Ensure company liability is limited to an acceptable level.
- Maintain a commercial awareness and an understanding of the conditions within which the company operates
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
- Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
- Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
- Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
- In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
- Planning capability sufficient to prepare Tender Programmes.
- Design and construction experience sufficient to influence the design and buildability of a project, choice of materials and be able to contribute to optioneering.
- Understanding of the Conditions of Contract and Specifications commonly used within the Water Industry.
- Understanding of Partnering and Framework approach.
- Experience in risk management techniques.
- Knowledge of the processes, equipment and services that are used within the water industry.
- Preferably Degree Qualified in an Engineering Discipline
- Ideally Member of a professional institution
- Proposals experience preferably within W&WW Industry.
