About the Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to join a dynamic and growing IT team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work with the latest technologies in a collaborative and supportive environment. The role is office-based, located just a short walk from Rickmansworth train station, with free parking provided.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in infrastructure who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about delivering robust system solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems across various distributions
• Collaborate with the lead system administrator and software team on new solution designs
• Support server-related tasks company-wide
• Automate infrastructure and deployment tasks using tools such as Ansible or Git Lab runners
• Work with cloud technologies, primarily AWS, with some exposure to Azure or Google Cloud
• Ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues

Key Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Linux Engineer (6+ years preferred)
• Strong scripting skills in BASH or similar
• Experience with AWS (developer certification or equivalent experience ideal)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure or Google Cloud
• Basic networking experience (even if limited to cloud-based networks)
• Excellent attention to detail, self-motivated, and strong problem-solving skills

Education & Clearance Requirements

• Degree-level education or equivalent experience
• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (i.e., lived and worked in the UK for the past 4 years)
