Basic Function

Kern Community College District is accepting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. The district maintains a pool of qualified applicants to fill upcoming needs without the need for immediate advertising. Applications remain active for up to two years. The starting salary is $60.00/hour, with potential variation based on assignment type and the LHE formula. Refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or college HR for details.

Duties

This pool is used to staff assignments at Cerro Coso Community College - Online, which may include teaching at various campus sites, during day/evening/weekends, large classes, distance learning, and using multiple teaching methodologies. Duties include maintaining subject matter currency, developing/revising curriculum, utilizing technology, and participating in professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree + 2 years relevant experience OR
  • Associate's degree + 6 years relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent qualifications (must submit application for equivalence with supporting documents)

Candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds. Preferred master discipline in Counseling; alternate preferred disciplines include Psychology and Sociology. Degrees must be from accredited institutions.
