The Server and Network Administrator works closely with customers, developers, and application operators, and is responsible for creating direction, planning, implementing, and managing servers and networks to facilitate and support application developers and maintenance personnel. The role includes providing guidance and mentorship, ensuring high uptime and availability, and evaluating technology components.
Responsibilities- Lead integration of complex enterprise-level servers and networks.
- Manage and administer servers and networks to ensure system integrity.
- Plan, design, and implement technology projects.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software; ensure security and performance; troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, backups, and disaster recovery; document network systems.
- Oversee system and network performance evaluation; recommend improvements.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and support calls with internal engineers.
- Prepare technical and functional documentation; prepare SOPs for servers, network hardware, and systems.
- Apply system security patches, OS upgrades, network device configurations.
- Perform root cause analysis of complex server problems; provide corrective action.
- Proactively monitor backups, server logs, and alert software.
- Work under change control policy; compile daily, weekly, monthly reports.
- Execute duties in accordance with ITIL framework guidelines.
- Participate in meetings, training, and supervisory sessions; build positive team relationships.
- Assist IT Manager in identifying single points of failure and disaster recovery plans.
- Recommend system and process improvements; stay abreast of technology upgrades.
- Perform and support additional tasks as identified by the Technology Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of server & network administration experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows, Linux, UNIX operating systems.
- Experience managing servers and networks in cloud/virtual machine environments.
- Strong knowledge of network hardware/software (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, VDI, MPLS).
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Understanding of network security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional certification (CISSP, CCNA, CCNP) preferred.
- Preference for Korean/English bilingual speakers.
$65,000 – $68,000 per year. (DOE)
