Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a part-time Contract position based onsite in Ridgefield, Connecticut. This role is ideal for someone who can manage routine accounting tasks with accuracy while keeping billing, deposits, and payroll activities organized. The position will contribute approximately 10 to 20 hours per week and requires hands-on experience with bookkeeping systems and financial record maintenance.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate financial records by entering transactions, updating ledgers, and ensuring supporting documentation is complete.

- Oversee invoicing and charge creation while monitoring billing activity to help keep accounts current and organized.

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including tracking outstanding items and recording incoming funds.

- Reconcile bank activity and account balances on a regular basis to identify discrepancies and support clean financial reporting.

- Prepare bank deposits, manage check processing, and coordinate the printing and mailing of payments as needed.

- Administer payroll for hourly employees and record reimbursement payments using designated payroll tools.

- Track donations and related financial activity to ensure contributions are recorded properly within accounting records.

- Use Quick Books Online and Shul Cloud to manage bookkeeping workflows, maintain data accuracy, and support reporting needs. Requirements - Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused setting.

- Hands-on knowledge of Quick Books, including transaction entry and account maintenance.

- Practical experience handling accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Ability to complete bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

- Familiarity with check deposits, payment processing, and mailing checks.

- Experience supporting payroll administration, including hourly payroll and reimbursements.

- Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
