Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) – NHMP Ridgefield Primary Care – Ridgefield, CT
TITLE: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) – NHMP Ridgefield Primary Care – Ridgefield, CT (Full Time, 40 hours per week, Variable 8‑hour shifts between 7:00 am–7:00 pm, Monday–Friday).
SUMMARY: Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for physician practice.
SHIFT INFORMATION: 40 hours/week, 8‑hour shifts between 7:00 am–7:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.
$500 Sign on Bonus (External Hires Only)
SALARY RANGE: $18.13 – $34.50 per hour (pay per years of relevant experience).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
- Ensures accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance.
- Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and ensures accurate communication verbally and via the EMR system.
- Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
- Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols.
- Monitors applications and manages worklists as applicable.
- Collects co‑pays and reconciles money for deposit.
- Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
- Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation where applicable.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Maintains and models the organization’s values.
- Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year customer‑related experience required.
- Preferred: 1+ years of healthcare experience.
