Research Scientist, Clinical Research
An exciting opportunity is available for a Scientist II to join a research team focused on chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) in vivo models. This onsite position is based in Ridgefield, Connecticut and requires a 40-hour work week, including participation in a recurring weekend rotation to support business operations. Scheduling is flexible and weekend work will not be required every week.
The Scientist II will independently initiate and complete routine in vivo studies, interpret experimental outcomes, and propose appropriate follow-up actions. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and execution of non-routine and exploratory experiments, maintaining compliance with IACUC regulations, and keeping accurate records in accordance with standard operating procedures. The role also involves operating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, performing literature searches, and applying scientific principles to study design, data analysis, and interpretation.
Candidates must have direct experience with rodent models of CKD, including routine routes of rodent dosing (i.v., i.p., p.o., s.c., and i.m.), health monitoring, and sample collection. Strong compliance and communication skills are required, along with proven problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for agile learning. Experience with data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and Graph Pad Prism is essential, with a willingness to develop expertise in additional software as needed.
The ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment is critical.
Applicants should hold a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of relevant experience in a scientific discipline.
