Senior Stem Cell & Molecular Biology Scientist

Pay Range: $44.55hr - $49.55hr Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Scientist III to join their research team. The position involves conducting stem cell-derived chronic kidney disease models and running in vitro studies to support drug Client operations. This is a full-time, onsite contract assignment for a one-year duration, requiring 40 hours per week, along with a recurring commitment of approximately 2-4 hours each weekend to support ongoing business operations with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities:
Initiate and complete routine in vitro studies in an independent, efficient, and timely manner, without supervision. Interpret the outcome of experiments and propose appropriate follow-up independently, troubleshooting effectively. Design and execute non-routine cell-based in vitro and biochemical assays based on literature analyses, conducting exploratory experiments with minimal supervision. Independently apply basic scientific principles, perform literature searches, extract relevant information from published protocols, attend scientific meetings, and keep abreast of literature in the field.

Independently operate and maintain lab equipment, troubleshooting issues effectively. Propose new experiments and technologies based on science and an overall understanding of the drug Client and development process. Demonstrate expertise in the field and contribute to training technicians and junior-level scientists. Communicate work effectively in the context of team and department goals, both orally and in writing. Write protocols, procedures, and technical reports, providing input for scientific reports.

Report and treat data with a high level of integrity and ethics, maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic lab notebooks. Comply with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner while maintaining proper records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and policies.

Skills:

Experience in aseptic mammalian tissue culture techniques and basic molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, and transfection. Demonstrated capability in experimental design, execution, and data interpretation within molecular biology and cell culture. Experience in human pluripotent stem cell culture is desired. Proven problem-solving ability and eagerness to learn new technologies and assist in incorporating them into research.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information. Proficiency with computers and data analysis software, such as Microsoft Excel and Graph Pad Prism. Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. Education and

Qualifications:

Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience in a related scientific discipline, or a Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience in a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience); pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO experience is highly desirable (non-PhD candidate required). Supplemental technical courses in the area of expertise. Ability to operate laboratory equipment independently. Ability to draft technical reports and communicate technical data accurately.
