Adelphi is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide substitute school nursing services for students in Ridgefield, New Jersey. The nurse will promote student health and safety, deliver medical care, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with staff, families, and community resources to support a healthy school environment.

- Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Demonstrated knowledge of child growth and development, family/community health, and wellness education
- Understanding of emergency procedures, infection control, and communicable disease prevention
- Strong communication skills with students, families, staff, and outside health agencies
- Current CPR/AED certification from the American Heart Association
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Work in cooperation with school physicians, staff, parents, and community health professionals to support a healthy school environment
- Conduct health services and screening programs (e.g., height, weight, vision, scoliosis, blood pressure) in line with state and district policies
- Provide emergency care for sudden illness or injury; ensure availability and maintenance of medical supplies
- Maintain complete and up-to-date student health records, including immunizations, screenings, referrals, and accident reports
- Oversee athletic health documentation in coordination with the athletic director
- Prevent and control communicable diseases through education, inspection, and adherence to state/local regulations
- Communicate with and advise students, parents, and staff on health and safety matters; support crisis management planning
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with state law and district policy; train/supervise designated staff for emergency epinephrine administration
- Monitor and support students with chronic conditions or disabilities, providing special health care and related services as needed
- Collaborate with teachers in the development and delivery of health education curriculum
- Assist administration in maintaining safe and sanitary school conditions and reporting concerns
- Participate in the development of health policies, procedures, and reports as required
- Report suspected child abuse in accordance with state law and district procedures
- Maintain professional competence through training, certification updates, and professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of student health and school safety
