- Minimum of 2 years of collections experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Contact delinquent members to discuss overdue accounts
- Develop repayment solutions and negotiate payment arrangements
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities
- Adhere to all legal and regulatory guidelines
- Update member accounts and ensure data accuracy
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve member inquiries and issues
- Provide exceptional member service with empathy and professionalism
- Evaluate members’ financial situations to determine appropriate solutions
- Analyze credit histories and make informed recommendations
- Recommend loan modifications or other financial solutions
- Provide detailed explanations of payment options to members
- Monitor payment plans and follow up as necessary
- Assist in the recovery of collateral, if required
- Utilize communication skills to negotiate and persuade
- Document all communication and actions taken
- Provide timely and accurate reports to supervisors
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on regulations
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams when necessary
- Identify trends and suggest process improvements
- Achieve monthly collection targets
- Ensure confidentiality and data security
- Participate in team meetings and share insights
- Continuously improve knowledge of collection practices
- Represent the credit union with integrity and professionalism
- Contribute to a positive team environment
- Back up teller line – with a drawer as needed
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Understanding of collection regulations and practices
- Empathy and patience when dealing with members in financial distress
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Proficiency in relevant computer software and applications
Successful candidates will undergo training at our corporate office located at 713 S Pear Orchard Rd, Suite 101, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
