Summary
C Spire is seeking an innovative and product-minded Head of Design Engineering, Mar Tech & Platform Enablement to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of our marketing and digital experience platforms. This role sits at the convergence of design engineering, product leadership, UX systems, and scalable platform development—ensuring our teams have intuitive, powerful, and future-ready capabilities to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
You will oversee the evolution of our entire Mar Tech and experience platform ecosystem, including Design Systems (DS), CDP, CMS, ESP/CRM, digital content platforms, A/B testing frameworks, PIM, DAM, and ecommerce/app integrations. Your role is to transform these tools into cohesive, human-centered products that empower teams with speed, quality, and intelligence.
This position is deeply rooted in product thinking, systems-level design, and the enablement of cross-functional teams. You will shape how C Spire scales personalization, experimentation, automation, and customer experience delivery—while also pioneering responsible adoption of AI-driven and agentic systems across marketing and digital channels.
Responsibilities- Own the product strategy for the Mar Tech and digital experience ecosystem. Define platform requirements, prioritize capabilities, and align stakeholders around a unified roadmap grounded in user needs, scalability, and measurable business impact.
- Ensure all platforms—from CMS to CDP—are intuitive, thoughtfully architected, and easy for internal teams to use. Drive adoption of a robust Design System, accessibility best practices, and UX patterns that create consistency across tools, workflows, and experiences.
- Enable designers, developers, and marketers with reusable components, design tokens, workflow automation, identity governance, and system architecture that accelerate creation without sacrificing quality.
- Partner with engineering, data science, and CRM teams to integrate AI-driven orchestration, decisioning, predictive insights, and content intelligence. Evaluate and pilot agentic AI that can autonomously optimize workflows, manage campaign logic, personalize experiences, and reduce time-to-market.
- Guide platform evolution to support omnichannel experience design, scalable content operations, and enriched product data. Ensure experience tools enable fast iteration, content reuse, and personalization at scale.
- Create clear processes, training programs, and governance models that help Marketing, UX/UI, Engineering, Ecommerce, and Content overcome friction and fully leverage platform capabilities. Increase velocity, reliability, and design consistency across teams.
- Build and mentor a multidisciplinary organization—including product owners, design engineers, UX/UI designers, and platform specialists. Foster a culture of product excellence, continuous improvement, and experimentation.
- Ensure all tools support A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, analytics, MMM, and attribution. Partner with engineering on data pipelines and system integrations that connect platform usage to business outcomes.
- 10+ years in product leadership, design engineering, experience platforms, or Mar Tech/marketing operations within complex digital environments.
- Deep expertise with platforms like Adobe Experience Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, enterprise CMS, CDP, PIM, DAM, ecommerce ecosystems, and modern API-first architectures.
- Fluency in design systems, component libraries, UX patterns, accessibility, and experience operations (Design Ops).
- Skilled in AI/ML applications, automation, agentic AI concepts, and their real-world use in marketing or digital product contexts.
- Strong background in product strategy, experience architecture, platform scaling, and cross-functional platform enablement.
- Demonstrated success leading large multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, product, and business functions.
- Understanding and experience with agile product development, experimentation frameworks, or growth design.
- Background in ecommerce, retail, telco, or large-scale digital platforms.
- Passion for AI, emerging tech, and pushing platform innovation into production environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills, including experience educating executives on complex platform capabilities.
- Experience with data governance, consent frameworks, and privacy integrations (GDPR, CCPA).
- Experience with leading global teams and suppliers.
- Experience managing vendor/supplier selections.
