Appliance Technician

Position at The Aaron’s Company, Inc.

Salary range: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Overview

Perform accurate diagnoses and repairs of consumer electronics and appliances in the Service Center. Properly complete all necessary service orders and paperwork associated with the repair. Calculate estimates on all non-warranty repairs. Research product and part information, and determine warranty status.

What You’ll Do
  • Ensure accurate documentation of service orders.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Communicate with retail store associates on product usage and training.
What You Need
  • Knowledge of most common consumer electronics and/or appliances.
  • Experience troubleshooting to modular level.
  • Ability to read schematics and research part and product information.
  • Basic PC skills with the ability to navigate service software and vendor websites.
  • No minimum experience required.
  • 2 years of technical experience preferred.
  • Type I EPA Certification preferred for appliance technicians.

  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong PC skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Effective communication with associates, supervisors/managers, and customers as required.
  • Bending/stooping – frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time).
  • Climbing – not present.
  • Lifting – frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time); ability to lift up to 40 lbs. independently and >40 lbs. with assistance.
  • Pushing/pulling – frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time).
  • Sitting – occasionally (up to 1/3 of time).
  • Standing – frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time).
  • Walking – frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of time).
