Location: Rincon, Georgia

Contract Term: 6 Months

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Engineering Contractor or Engineering Intern to support the creation, updating, and organization of technical drawings for existing production tools and equipment at our Rincon, Georgia facility. This role is responsible for documenting current‑state tool designs, producing accurate 2D/3D drawings, and ensuring all documentation meets internal engineering standards. The position is ideal for a candidate with strong drafting skills who is pursuing or has recently completed an engineering or technical design program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create precise 2D and/or 3D drawings of existing tools, fixtures, and equipment using CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent).
  • Take field measurements, photos, and reference data from existing tooling to ensure drawing accuracy.
  • Convert hand‑drawn sketches, legacy files, and incomplete documentation into clean, standardized engineering drawings.
  • Maintain drawing organization, naming conventions, and revision control per company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and production staff to understand tool functionality and required documentation details.
  • Update drawings as needed to reflect modifications or improvements to tools.
  • Assist engineering staff with lightweight design tasks, modeling updates, or documentation activities.
  • Support the engineering change process by preparing updated prints and documentation packages.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related field.
  • Effective communication skills explaining drawing particulars to machine shop suppliers.
  • Proficiency with at least one CAD platform (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Inventor, Draft Sight).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, clean technical drawings.
  • Ability to take precise measurements and translate physical objects into CAD models/drawings.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions to ensure accuracy.

Preferred:

  • Experience drafting tooling, fixtures, jigs, or mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, dimensioning standards, and engineering drawing best practices.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • On‑site work required at the Rincon, Georgia facility for measurement and tool analysis.
  • Some hybrid flexibility may be possible depending on project requirements.
  • Reports to:

    Engineering Manager, Tooling Engineer, or Capital Projects PMO.
  • Complete and accurate drawing files for assigned tools and equipment.
  • Organized documentation packages ready for release into engineering archives.
  • Updated revision‑controlled files reflecting current tooling conditions.
