Maintenance Planner

Location: On-Site | Rincon, Georgia

Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and optimizing maintenance activities to ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment downtime while supporting plant reliability and production goals. This role focuses on translating maintenance strategies into clearly defined, executable work plans by establishing job scopes, labor estimates, material requirements, tools, and safety considerations prior to maintenance execution.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in coordination with production and operations teams.
  • Develop detailed job plans defining work scope, estimated labor hours, tools, materials, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare complete work packages for corrective maintenance, planned outages, and shutdown activities.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Support

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) plans and task frequencies.
  • Plan predictive maintenance activities and coordinate follow‑up corrective actions based on findings.
  • Support equipment reliability by ensuring maintenance tasks are properly scoped and scheduled.
  • Ensure spare parts, tools, contractors, and external resources are identified and available prior to scheduled work.
  • Coordinate with storeroom, procurement, and maintenance teams to support work readiness.
  • Support Single Point of Failure (SPOF) readiness by planning inspections and maintenance for critical equipment.

CMMS, Labor Control & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate maintenance plans, job packages, and schedules within the CMMS.
  • Support labor control and work order accuracy through CMMS management.
  • Track and report planning accuracy metrics, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.

Continuous Improvement & Reliability Support

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing maintenance intervals, task scopes, and planning effectiveness.
  • Participate in reliability and maintenance improvement efforts focused on reducing downtime and improving asset performance.
  • Partner with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve maintenance planning standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Ability to develop detailed job plans and work packages.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, operations, engineering, and supply chain teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree or certification in maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience using CMMS systems for planning, scheduling, and labor control.
  • Familiarity with SPOF analysis, shutdown planning, and reliability improvement programs.
  • Background in heavy manufacturing, electrical equipment, or industrial processing environments.
