Your Opportunity to Drive Operational ExcellenceWe are looking for an Assistant Warehouse Manager (AWM) to play a critical leadership role in the safe, efficient, and effective movement of inventory throughout our Distribution Center. Under the direction of the DC Manager, you will be the key operational leader responsible for optimizing product flow, managing day‑to‑day personnel, and championing a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
This is a hands‑on role where your ability to lead, troubleshoot, and implement LEAN principles will directly impact our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Be Doing Leadership & Personnel Management- Hire, train, and develop Distribution (W&D) employees and staffing agency workers.
- Oversee daily workflow and assignments, ensuring tasks are coordinated effectively to meet business demands and minimize waste.
- Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations and handle employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.
- Work closely with the DC Manager to plan appropriate staffing levels to align with daily and seasonal business volume.
- Champion safety compliance with all company safety rules, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate loading and unloading processes, teaching employees safe and ergonomic movement and providing continuous feedback on productivity.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment is safely maintained and employees are properly trained to operate all machinery, including forklifts.
- Act as a liaison between the Office and Warehouse teams to determine the root cause of customer complaints and recommend operational procedure changes for resolution.
- Expedite priority (hot rush) orders efficiently without disrupting the normal flow of operations.
- Ensure proper inventory control procedures are followed and assist with cycle counts and error correction.
- Prepare, analyze, and present operational reports and data to leadership, offering suggestions for continuous improvements.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams with strong supervisory and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Prior experience with LEAN warehouse principles and/or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to drive and train personnel on the safe operation of forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety procedures, logistics, and OSHA Regulations.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency with Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and inventory systems.
- Strong technical proficiency in MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A College degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to anticipate and solve problems (troubleshooting) and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
The salary range for this role is $60K to $65K a year and a yearly bonus potential. This range is applicable for jobs performed in the Eastern and Central Time Zones. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, and business organizational needs.
