The Rol   e   Are you an experienced  Estimator  looking for your next opportunity within civil engineering?

Youll join an established contractor with a strong track record across the South of England, working on a varied portfolio of  infrastructure, groundworks and civil engineering projects .

Youll support the estimating process from initial tender review through to submission, working closely with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to produce accurate and competitive bids.

What youll be doing     Prepare estimates and tender submissions  for civil engineering projects.
Review drawings, specifications, scopes and tender documentation.
Obtain and assess  subcontractor and supplier quotations .
Price labour, plant, materials and subcontractor packages.
Identify  commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options .
Work closely with the commercial and operational teams throughout the tender process.

What Youll Need
Essential    Previous experience as an  Estimator within civil engineering .
Good understanding of  groundworks, infrastructure and construction methodologies .
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
Experience obtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Confident communication and negotiation skills.

Desirable    

Experience with  S278, highways, drainage or earthworks  projects.
Relevant construction or civil engineering qualification.
Good knowledge of  Excel and estimating software .
Experience working with developers, main contractors or local authorities.
