Lotus Works is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Technician to support the daily operation, maintenance, and preservation of critical equipment in a high-tech semiconductor facility. This role is essential in ensuring systems remain reliable, safe, and compliant with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers and vendors in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Perform all Electrical and Instrumentation preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with client Facilities standards, safety procedures, and OEM recommendations.
- Conduct 5-Year Infrared (IR) Scans on electrical panels, switchboards, MCCs, and equipment to identify temperature anomalies and early signs of failure.
- Visually inspect electrical equipment for physical damage, corrosion, contamination, loose connections, missing covers, and incorrect labeling.
- Verify that circuit schedules and panel labels match current as-built documentation and initiate updates where required.
- Capture and document both infrared and visual images of all IR exceptions and categorize findings per the clients thermal severity criteria.
- Generate and close Corrective Maintenance Work Orders (CMWOs) in CMMS for any identified deficiencies or exceptions.
- Record amperage, phase balance, and load conditions for each scanned panel, updating PM records and labor entries in CMMS.
- Ensure all corrective actions are completed and documented in accordance with the clients IR repair timelines and reporting matrix.
- Execute AFD/VFD inspections on all facility drive systems, verifying operational parameters, configuration settings, labeling, and enclosure condition.
- Check for signs of overheating, discoloration, vibration, or abnormal noise within VFD enclosures, and inspect internal components for cleanliness and integrity.
- Validate the operation of cabinet fans, heaters, and air-conditioning units by adjusting thermostats and confirming correct response.
- Verify and, if necessary, correct drive parameters per clients configuration standards.
- Inspect and clean air filters, grilles, and intake/exhaust paths, ensuring proper airflow and dust protection.
- STJ (Stop the Job) and escalate to engineering for any non-standard findings, abnormal readings, or internal filter installations.
- Document all VFD findings, operational readings, and corrective actions in CMMS, ensuring full traceability.
- Perform calibration and verification of instrumentation and control devices including temperature, humidity, pressure, level, and flow transmitters, and gas or chemical sensors.
- Calibrate sensors to manufacturer and client Facilities tolerances using traceable calibration equipment and standards.
- Document all calibration results, “as-found” and “as-left” data, and update calibration tags and records in CMMS.
- Verify proper signal transmission, scaling, and controller response after each calibration.
- Identify and report any damaged, drifting, or out-of-spec devices for replacement or engineering evaluation.
- Maintain calibration records, certificates, and traceability logs in accordance with site QA/QC and audit requirements.
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation work is performed under safe conditions, following arc-flash labeling, PPE requirements, and LOTO procedures.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times, removing debris and securing tools and test equipment after completion.
