Registered Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary - Rio Rancho, NM

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our healthcare team in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Location: 2400 Unser Blvd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, United States

Pay Range: $27.92/hr – $47.53/hr (based on skills and experience)

Job Summary: As an RRT, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders, improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • All Certified Respiratory Therapist responsibilities.
  • Assist physicians with bronchoscopic procedures, monitoring patient status and administering IV conscious sedation.
  • Initiate and manage ventilator protocols, including high‑frequency ventilators and nitric oxide delivery.
  • Perform advanced airway care: tracheotomy changes, intubation, extubation, and emergency airway management.
  • Provide NICU care: surfactant delivery, high‑risk delivery assistance, and high‑frequency ventilation.
  • Optional procedures: transport team duties, intubation support, and backup charge therapist.
  • Perform department‑specific functions as detailed in the summary of department duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Compensation & Differentials
  • Sign‑on and relocation bonuses available for qualified candidates.
  • Shift differentials: nights $5.00, weekends $3.00.
  • Preceptor differential.
  • Additional differentials for higher education, certifications, and leadership roles.
  • Career ladder program eligibility based on advanced certifications such as RPFT, CPFT, PFSCT, ACCS, RPSGT, etc.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC).
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner‑NM.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of critical‑care experience.
