Position SummaryPerform a variety of clerical duties in support of nutritional care and patient food service. Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed Responsibilities- MENUS – Correct menus according to diet plan, tally menus and prepare food production guide
- COMPLIANCE – Adhere and ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards, JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements
- RECORDS – Maintain and prepare various patient records to include labels, cardexes and menus; record diet changes and update changes accordingly
- PATIENT TRAYS – Prepare and distribute menus; deliver patient formulas and trays according to schedule
- INVENTORY – Stock a variety of materials and supplies to ensure adequate inventory; order supplies as needed
- COMPUTER AND PHONES – Operate computer to retrieve information; answer phone calls related to patient nutrition care taking appropriate action
- INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS – Establish and maintain effective interpersonal business relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and all hospital personnel
- TRAYS – Check patient trays for accuracy
- RELATED WORK – Perform related duties and responsibilities as required

Physical ConditionsLight Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. May require walking or standing to a significant degree or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; may require working at a production rate pace entailing constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of materials is negligible.
