Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience in HHC, outpatient, and acute settings for a primarily outpatient rehab role.
Responsibilities
• Work in a rehabilitation setting serving both outpatient and acute care patients
• 8-hour day shifts from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
• Float between departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius is required
• Primary patient population is outpatient, with some acute care responsibilities
• EPIC EMR is used, with on-site training available
• Evaluate and treat patients using a wide range of occupational therapy interventions
• Plan and implement individualized treatment programs to address physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental needs
• Coordinate with other disciplines to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
• Promote patient and caregiver independence by utilizing external resources as appropriate
• Returnee staff must wait at least one year before being considered for a traveler position
• No local candidates will be considered due to a 50-mile radius rule
Requirements
• Current NM Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required; master's degree preferred
• Current BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross is required
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in home health, outpatient, and acute care settings
• At least one previous 13-week travel assignment required
• Must be flexible, able to work in fast-paced environments, and function well as part of a team
