Must have intra-procedural level and gastro experience. Must have a rating of 3.2 or higher on the skills checklist. Procedural tech experience is required.
Description:
This is a position within an endoscopy unit. The facility is a 198-bed trauma center offering a range of medical services. Responsibilities include performing pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care in gastroenterology. Common procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and bronchoscopy. Critical actions include performing biopsies, balloon dilatation, therapeutic injections, and foreign body retrieval. Non-critical actions involve assisting other team members, troubleshooting equipment, and inventory management.
The unit has a patient ratio of 1:2 and utilizes Olympus equipment. Endoscopy RNs will work with a mid to high acuity patient population. Weekend and evening on-call responsibilities may be required. Experience in advanced endoscopy techniques is a significant aspect of this role. Candidates must demonstrate competency in a range of endoscopic procedures listed in the job profile.
