Full Time

Shift: Rotating

Perform repair, maintenance, and installation of all piping systems to include cooling/heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment. Maintain compliance with national and state plumbing codes and accrediting agencies such as TJC, NFPA, and administration guidelines. Ensure a safe and uninterrupted service to patients and all staff members. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.

No patient care assignment.

• PLUMBING – Inspect, install, repair, and maintain all pipes to include cooling/heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment.
• PLUMBING – Repairs any malfunction or discrepancy to supervisor.
• PLUMBING – Perform welding, brazing, and cutting.
• PLUMBING – Install new piping to include cooling/heating lines & related heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment or plumbing related equipment as needed or scheduled.
• PLUMBING – Repair or replace plumbing related equipment or piping to include cooling/heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment as needed or scheduled.
• PLUMBING – Maintain all waste and vent lines in compliance to national and state plumbing codes and governing agencies such as TJC and NFPA.
• RECORDS – Maintain all compliance records.
• MAINTENANCE – Report any repairs or maintenance needed throughout the building or grounds dealing with area of specialization or outside area of specialization.
• TOOLS – Responsible for all hospital owned tools; ensure tools are in safe operating condition; report any unsafe tools needing repair to the supervisor.
• ENVIRONMENT – Maintain and clean tools and shop area; maintain shop area in operational condition.
• MAINTENANCE – Assist other maintenance departments as required by supervisor.
• TRAINING – Participate in cross-training programs that will help carry out duties throughout the department.
• REPORTING – Keep supervisor informed of his/her location at all times.

Essential:
High School or GED Equivalent

Essential: 3 years directly related experience

• Med Gas Certificate within 1 year of employment
• Journeyman Plumber License in New Mexico
• Valid New Mexico Driver's License
• UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit within 60 days

Medium Work:
Exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

• May be required or is required to perform on-call duties
• Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
