POSITION SUMMARY
The General Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This role counts and inspects product and notifies leadership of damages or discrepancies. Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality and comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
Responsibilities- Picking: use a pallet jack to accurately pick orders, stage products, and prepare them for client fulfillment. Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products according to client requirements. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for picking.
- Quality Control: verify products and orders meet quality standards, document and report damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label products per SOPs.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: execute safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly work area; assist in warehouse security and comply with SOPs, corporate/site policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
- Equipment Operation: operate equipment (e.g., pallet jack) safely and efficiently; maintain equipment and report problems.
- Maintenance: assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Other Duties: work overtime as dictated by business needs; perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or GED. - Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse; environments can vary with seasons.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None required.
- Language
Skills:
English (reading, writing, verbal). - Mathematical
Skills:
basic to intermediate level to verify quantities and count inventory. - Other: strong attention to detail, ability to work with minimal supervision, adaptability to change, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- 6 months experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
- Occasionally:
Handling/Fingering, Sitting. - Frequently:
Bending. - Constantly:
Walking and Standing; ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat or kneel.
The work environment typically involves low to moderate noise. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles or chemicals is possible.
