About the Role
The Golf Course Superintendent oversees all aspects of golf course maintenance, including staff leadership, agronomic programs, resource management, budgeting, and environmental initiatives. This position requires a balance of operational excellence, ecological awareness, and outstanding communication skills.
Course Co, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead maintenance operations for The Golf Club at Rio Vista—an 18‑hole, year‑round championship course designed by renowned architect Ted Robinson Sr., and recognized multiple times by Golf Digest as a “Best Places to Play” destination.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all golf course maintenance, including clubhouse landscaping and the entrance road
- Oversee budgeting, purchasing, and equipment maintenance
- Direct fertilizer and pesticide applications
- Manage trees, water features, and lake systems
- Lead efforts toward Audubon Certification and community outreach
- Communicate effectively with staff, ownership, vendors, golf professionals, and community members
- Educate local groups about turfgrass and environmental management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Golf Course Superintendent
- Degree in turf management (2‑or 4‑year) preferred
- Strong agronomic expertise, people management, and water management skills
- Experience maintaining Poa annua/bentgrass greens and Bermuda/Rye fairways
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to build relationships and manage diverse stakeholders
- Spanish language skills preferred
- Passion for sustainability and environmental best practices
- Salary: $90,000–$110,000 DOE
