Purpose and Summary

Pharmacy Managers lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. They support novel program awareness, onboard new team members, and recognize colleagues for success. Pharmacy Managers consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Overseeing the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow‑up
  • Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the team to do the same
  • Proactively offering and delivering immunizations, identifying and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Managing inventory by following best practices, with a focus on protecting cold‑chain products
  • Conducting new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, ensuring timely completion of training and licensure
  • Ensuring compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues to the Rx DL as needed
  • Partnering with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues, ensuring timely completion of required training for licensure
  • Overseeing Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance, delivering annual reviews, and closing gaps
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, writing or delegating pharmacy schedules
  • Reviewing business reporting for operational insights, developing action plans to close gaps
  • Establishing a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety and opening the door for feedback
  • Maintaining clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge
  • Supporting access to care and improving patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible
  • Understanding and complying with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; complying with CVS policies to support patient safety and a safe workplace
Required Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • 1‑2 years of experience as a Pharmacist
Essential Functions
