Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Ripon who are looking to add an experienced Accounts Senior to their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking a varied role within a supportive practice environment, with genuine opportunities for career progression and professional development.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, providing accounts preparation, tax compliance and bookkeeping services.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory accounts for a wide variety of businesses, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

• Preparation and submission of personal and business tax returns.

• Preparation and submission of VAT returns, including Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.

• Bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients.

• Liaising directly with clients and providing ongoing support and advice.

• Assisting with client queries and maintaining strong client relationships.

• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within deadlines.

• Payroll processing experience is desirable but not essential.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working within an UK accountancy practice is essential.

• AAT qualified or qualified by experience.

• Proven experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

• Experience completing personal and/or business tax returns.

• Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.

• Strong bookkeeping skills.

• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Payroll experience.

• ACA or ACCA studier, or an interest in pursuing further professional qualifications.

• Experience using:

o Sage

o Sage 50

o Sage Business Cloud

o Xero

o Quick Books
