Sharow CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and committed member of staff to join our friendly and dedicated team. This is a dual‑role position, combining General Teaching Assistant with After School Club (ASC) Assistant.

As a General Teaching Assistant, you will:

• support teaching and learning through a range of planned and responsive activities
• work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress
• support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development
• contribute to the observation, assessment and reporting of pupil progress
• demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, supporting learning across different classes and age groups as required within our small school

As an After School Club (ASC) Assistant, you will:

• help provide a safe, engaging and nurturing environment after school
• support activities and play opportunities
• ensure the wellbeing and safety of all pupils

As a small school, flexibility is essential and you may occasionally be asked to support across all classes.

• holds a full and relevant EYFS level 3 qualification
• has experience of working in a school
• is nurturing, patient and responsive
• has high expectations of behaviour and care
• works well as part of a team
• is flexible and adaptable
• is supportive of the Christian ethos of the school

• a supportive and welcoming staff team
• enthusiastic pupils
• a strong sense of community
• a commitment to staff wellbeing
