We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Service Centre Supervisor in Ripon - Claro Barracks (HG42RD
).

Overview

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Join our vibrant, inclusive community in Complex Facilities working on Defence Equipment.

To control, direct and partake in the fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance, inspection and servicing of construction plant, HGVs, MHE and associated equipment to stipulated company, OEM and current legislative standards, therefore ensuring equipment meets our contractual requirements and is fit for purpose prior to any use. To assist the centrally located MITER Service Centre in maintaining data integrity on IFS.

What You Will Do
  • Foreperson of the Regional Service Centre.
  • Supervise Fitters, Mechanics and Apprentices (if allocated) and manage the local supply chain maintenance capability.
  • Supervise and carry out the repair, maintenance and servicing of plant, equipment and associated ancillaries to current company standards and LOLER and PUWER legislation.
  • Supervise and carry out inspection programmes on equipment and report as required to ensure the required quality standard is achieved.
  • Maintain local stocks of spares, CES, ancillaries, attachments and local technical documentation, as appropriate.
  • Develop interface with local MoD maintenance staff and provide assisted maintenance to level of own expertise, as appropriate.
  • Collect and input management information arising from maintenance and transaction activity, as required, using relevant systems.
  • Undertake delivery, collection and exchange of equipment and transactions, including inspections, for handover/hand-back of equipment as required.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are adopted and company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies are read, understood and adhered to at all times. Promote and manage on daily basis within Regional pool and throughout other locations as required.
  • Authorized to provide training to MoD maintainers and users, within limits of own qualification, ability and knowledge.
  • Must be willing to work away from regional pool location and in other service centres/operating areas.
  • Will be required to undertake out of hours duties including weekend work.
What You Will Bring
  • Previous experience of managing dispersed/workshop-based engineering resource
  • Good levels of people management skills, having demonstrated an ability to work in a team and have a desire to promote customer service excellence
  • Previous experience of using workshop production and performance data and is computer literate
  • Understanding of and application of H&S, PUWER & LOLER requirements
  • Current Driving License
  • Valid passport as potential for occasional travel to overseas locations
