OSP Designer

Department: Fiber - Fiber Network Design and Implementation Services

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Ripon, WI

Reporting To: Iris Troiano

Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 / hour

Description

JSI invites you to join our team as an OSP Designer on our Engineering & Design team in Wisconsin
, where you'll play a critical role in advancing broadband and telecommunications initiatives that expand connectivity and drive digital inclusion—while advancing your career within a mission-driven, growth-focused organization.

Position Overview:

As an OSP Designer, you will be responsible for planning and creating high-quality designs for new FTTx build-outs, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project timelines. You will collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and permitting teams to deliver accurate designs for buried, underground, and aerial fiber applications.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams for Telecom/FTTx OSP construction projects.
  • Create and review fiber assignments, high-level designs, and low-level designs.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, permitting teams, and field personnel to meet deadlines and client expectations while adhering to JSI standards.
  • Maintain accuracy and quality in deliverables through continuous process and skill improvement.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with telecommunications OSP design, engineering, and deliverable production.
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided drafting and design software such as AutoCAD.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in engineering, GIS, or a related field.
  • GIS experience (ArcGIS or QGIS).
