As a Process Engineer - Press
, you will be responsible for engineering matters relating to planning, managing, and improving production methods and processes in the companys metal stamping press department. You will be able to participate in cross-functional teams representing manufacturing engineering at every stage of the design and development process. You will also collaborate with colleagues in other engineering functions as well as production, research, marketing, and after-sales service.
Responsibilities
- Examines equipment, processes, operations, and assembly procedures to determine time or quality revisions and suggests improvements.
- Improve overall processes and related issues including process development
- Problem-solving and program management
- Develop and troubleshoot stamping processes
- Specify forming and stamping equipment
- Provide engineering resources for other departments as required
- Follow quality systems procedures as required
- Design and develop department tooling, fixtures, and work aides.
- Investigate and analyze tooling, processing, assembly, and sequencing issues
- Initiate corrective actions to include the modification of plant tooling and machine programming
- Participate in problem-resolution teams
- Develop specifications and analyze supplier quotations for the purchase of new production equipment up to and including entire manufacturing lines
- Carry out changes or monitor operations standards. Evaluate vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
- Assist in the design, installation, and debugging of tooling and capital equipment
- Daily troubleshooting of assembly and press shop problems to support production
- Identify & optimize current and new manufacturing processes using continuous improvement.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a metal stamping shop
- CAD experience required. i.e.:
AutoCAD, Pro E, Solid Works - Knowledge of design applications- stamping
- Knowledge of equipment and systems appropriate to the related discipline
- Knowledge of engineering principles and procedures
- Journeyman Tool and Die experience is a plus

- Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education approved by Human Resources
Physical Requirements:
- Position involves sitting for long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, and minimal lifting
MUST HAVE
- Bachelors degree in engineering with min 2yrs related experience OR 5 years of equivalent experience with demonstrated knowledge in the field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a metal stamping shop.
- CAD experience required. i.e.:
AutoCAD, Pro E, Solid Works - Working knowledge of design applications- stamping
