The Guidance Center provides a broad range of services to help children, adults and families unlock potential and build better lives. We offer 25 programs with treatment, prevention, growth and education services to more than 15,000 people annually.

• Join the team as a Teacher with responsibilities in early childhood education within a Head Start program.
• Support development, foster resilience and cultivate well-being in collaboration with colleagues and families.
• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum practices and participate in ongoing professional growth.
• Respond to emergencies and support children as needed, including safe lifting and movement when required.
• Conduct developmental observations or assessments as needed or as trained, and maintain a nonjudgmental, culturally competent approach.

• Qualifications:
  
  Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree (BS or BA) or Associate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field, with 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Education and prior experience working with preschool children in a classroom setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and ability to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum practices.
• Ability to handle crisis situations and maintain composure in emergency scenarios.
• Good physical mobility including the ability to locate, direct and move children in emergencies; ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; ability to stand for extended periods; ability to ambulate between sitting, standing and chair-sitting; ability to bend, stoop and reach to address child needs.
• Ability to conduct developmental assessments and a willingness to continue personal and professional growth; demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
