Position: Retail Keyholder (Store 3419)

Overview

At Game Stop, we are committed to providing exceptional service and delivering the latest gaming products to our customers. The Retail Keyholder assists the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities, under moderate supervision. This role supports a sales culture that leverages Game Stop's Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, ensures products are accessible and purchasable, boosts sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty and repeat business.

Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and thank guests for choosing Game Stop. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
  • Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally to ensure top-notch service.
  • Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising according to guidelines; ensure store fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
  • Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety procedures; assist with bank deposits as required.
  • Conduct store inventory counts, restock shelves, and move merchandise from stock to sales floor ensuring organization and proper labeling.
  • Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
  • Balance and reconcile daily POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits following established guidelines.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies, record findings in the POS system, and report issues to management as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring boxes are properly labeled with packing lists.
  • Assist in closing procedures and supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management.
  • Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures and provide timely feedback on associate performance to store management.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work alone, stand and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; meet performance expectations including attendance and grooming.
  • Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work as a team; strong problem-solving and judgment abilities.
  • Follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
  • Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
  • Physical ability to bend, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet.
  • Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.
