Job Objectives:

The Career Exploration Lab Facilitator oversees the daily operation of the Career Exploration Lab and supports student engagement with Paxton/Patterson career exploration modules. This position is responsible for maintaining a productive learning environment, monitoring student progress, ensuring appropriate use of equipment and materials, and promoting positive student behavior. The facilitator is not responsible for direct instruction of course content but serves as a guide and supervisor as students work independently through career exploration activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to supervise students independently and maintain a structured learning environment.
  • Basic technology skills and willingness to learn the operation of Paxton/Patterson modules and equipment.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Responsibilities and

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and physical presence at the assigned work location, as consistent on-site supervision and instruction of students is an essential function of this position.
  • Supervise students as they participate in career exploration modules and activities.
  • Monitor student progress and completion of assigned Paxton/Patterson modules.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
  • Reinforce school and classroom expectations for behavior, attendance, and engagement.
  • Assist students with basic navigation of software, equipment, and module materials.
  • Communicate student progress, concerns, and needs to teachers and administrators as appropriate.
  • Ensure proper care, use, and storage of lab equipment and instructional resources.
  • Maintain records related to student participation and module completion.
  • Support scheduling and organization of student groups utilizing the lab.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move throughout the lab environment.
  • Ability to monitor multiple student workstations and activities simultaneously.
  • Occasional lifting and movement of instructional materials and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervises students as designated on the class roster. Also supervises students in general common areas when class is not in session.

Sustainability:

This position is funded through federal grant money and may not be available after one funding year, pending allocations.
