Commissioning EngineerThe Commissioning Engineer team performs final testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switch gear, relays, and motor control centers, both in the field and in manufacturing. You will contribute to a safe working environment, help ensure overall project success, and may be required to travel locally, regionally, or nationally.
Responsibilities- Assist more experienced Commissioning specialists in coordinating and reviewing electrical deliverables
- Prepare and review simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets
- Perform simple routine electrical calculations
- Assist in review of supplier documentation for compliance with specifications
- Use the electrical engineering website to access department guides and standards
- Have basic knowledge of commissioning, inspection, and testing of electrical components and systems
- Understand basic electrical engineering theories
- Be familiar with power system components such as switch gear, transformers, circuit breakers, power panels, protection relays, UPS systems, power monitoring systems, and test equipment
- Be proficient in technical writing
- Knowledge of advanced mathematics
- Basic awareness of industry codes and standards
- Possess good communication skills
- Be willing to travel to customer sites periodically
- 0+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering
