Position: Therapist 1
Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT: Assess, diagnose, and provide clinical services for individuals with behavioral health disorders.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families to treat emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
  • Conduct individual, group, or family therapy sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan.
  • Provide initial treatment planning based on assessments and coordinate additional services, revising plans as necessary.
  • Maintain documentation of therapy services according to facility and professional standards, updating as needed.
  • Manage an assigned caseload.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate patient services.
  • Provide services in inpatient or outpatient settings.
  • Perform case management, discharge, or aftercare planning as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients, addressing complaints and prioritizing patient safety.

    • OTHER FUNCTIONS:

    Perform additional tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Human Services.
    • At least one year of experience working with the relevant patient population.

    LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/

    CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Requisite state or national licensure for professional therapy providers or eligibility for licensure.
    • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training provided upon hire).
    • First aid may be required depending on state or facility.
