Overview

Part-Time Sales Teammate at The Buckle, Inc. supports the mission: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.”

The Sales Teammate performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities).

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guests’ needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing that knowledge with the team.
  • Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
  • Remain consistent on personal sales and look for opportunities to improve Teammate presentations per the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
  • Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Provide legendary service across key areas:
    Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
  • Help Guests try on or fit merchandise; check out and bag purchases; prepare merchandise for alterations.
  • Be knowledgeable of all exchange and return procedures and turn them into opportunities for showmanship.
  • Complete and effectively use the SPG daily to accomplish goals.
  • Meet or exceed performance standards in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs.
  • Place Special Orders or call other stores to locate desired merchandise.
  • Maintain and build good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
  • Know Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet the needs of every Guest.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and high standards, whether the Manager is present.
Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
  • Recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals and Teammate recommendations.
  • Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude to foster a positive floor culture.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and optimize merchandise turn.
  • Stay current on product range and gather feedback on product improvements.
  • Ensure the sales floor is sized appropriately and new freight is properly displayed.
Operations
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as needed.
  • Open/close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and handle related transactions.
  • Recognize security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines.
  • Understand POS procedures and policies regarding payments, exchanges and Loss Prevention.
  • Perform merchandising tasks, such as handling freight, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, and transfers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, shoppable store and provide feedback to leadership on merchandise handling concerns.
  • Communicate policy violations or concerns to Store Manager, District Manager, or Human Resources in a timely, confidential manner.
  • Understand and apply Buckle Code of Ethics and all policies and handbooks.
  • Fulfill the mission by delivering high-level customer service and contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
