Job Summary

The Sales Consultant sells La‑Z‑Boy products and services, using polished selling and customer service skills to meet and exceed store goals. The role involves providing the highest level of customer service, maintaining trust and loyalty of customers, and achieving store sales objectives.

Job Description

• 10‑week training with a starting pay of $22.00 per hour (no commission) plus a base salary and unlimited commission once trained.

• Base pay is $45,864 (annual) after training, with uncapped monthly commission ranging from 6% to 7.5% on written sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with customers professionally, providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Drive sales by contributing to store sales goals – selling furniture, accessories and services.
  • Complete all sales paperwork and customer service issues in a timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in company training and store meetings.
  • Assist in training, coaching and developing new peers on product knowledge and selling process.
  • Accurately record order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records and research payments and deliveries.
  • Follow company policies on harassment, attendance, sales procedures and customer interaction.

  • Perform a minimum number of house calls to customer homes.
  • Maintain a sales average consistent with company standards.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate, build rapport and positively influence.
  • Vocational or technical training in field of study.
  • Bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Reliable transportation to drive to customer homes.
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous selling experience with a strong ability to close sales.
  • Organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Understanding and ability to work with computer technology.
