Guided by our Christian ethos, we are preparing business professionals with the business and technical acumen, soft skills, and ethical grounding to successfully live out their purpose in the modern marketplace. The Jabs School of Business is ACBSP Accredited, has a student body of over 1,900 students and is one of 10 schools and colleges within the university. With strong growth in student numbers and program offerings, the Jabs School of Business consists of 28 full time faculty and 3 support staff.
Students participate in undergraduate and graduate programs.
Position
Description:
The Dean of the Jabs School of Business is the chief academic officer and the administrative head of the school. The Dean holds academic rank and is charged with the administration, academic leadership, and supervision of the operation of the school through its instructional programs, research, publications, and service activities. This administrator must be a visionary who has the demonstrated ability and entrepreneurial mindset to execute a strategic plan.
With the Provost and other officers of the University, the Dean participates in developing University policy and strategic planning and represents the School internally, as well as in the larger community and region. To support the growth and success of the School, the Dean also seeks broad-based support from external agencies and plays a leadership role in fundraising and development for the School.
The Dean reports directly to the Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves on the Provost’s Council.
Pay RangeThe compensation for this appointment will range from $190,000 – $210,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
QualificationsRequired qualifications include
1) A demonstrated mature Christian faith aligned with CBU’s foundation as a Christian institution committed to the Great Commission,
2) an earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the work of the Jabs School of Business,
3) progressive administrative experience in higher education,
4) knowledge of accreditation bodies,
5) an outstanding record of leadership and service to the community, and
6) an outstanding record of academic activities including university teaching, research, external funding and service.
