Civil Engineering Lead (Civil Works)

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multi-discipline analysis within HDR’s dam, levee, and civil works program in Southern California.
- Coordinate site land development, structural, geotechnical, hydraulic engineering, and other disciplines.
- Provide project management, business development, and mentorship to a team of civil engineers and designers.
- Develop project design, planning, scheduling, and final design analysis for dams, spillways, outlet works, stormwater systems, and other critical structures.
- Support project delivery and technological development, ensuring high-quality services.
- Apply State Dam Safety, US Bureau of Reclamation, US Army Corps of Engineers and/or FERC regulated projects and standards.
Additional Positive Qualifications
- Master of Science or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to obtain California PE registration; multiple state registrations encouraged.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering projects involving site land development, water management, structural, geotechnical, and hydraulic disciplines.
- Construction experience to identify potential claims.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate tasks with multiple disciplines.
- Experience with Bentley Micro Station, InRoads, Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil3D, and other civil engineering software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 7 years related experience.
- Minimum 2 years project management experience.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project;
Access experience a plus. - Demonstrated leadership skills.

Expected compensation: $140,000–$215,000 (California). Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.
