SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work. SWCA's Southern California team offers a unique work environment and a diversified client-base, including generation / renewables, transportation, water infrastructure, oil and gas, and land development.
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking temporary Cultural Resources Technicians for our Pasadena office to assist on projects based in the Los Angeles, Inland Empire, San Diego and areas all around Southern California. The schedule requires extensive travel subject to variable hours and schedules.

- Assist with conducting archaeological fieldwork (including pedestrian survey, site identification, site recording / data collection,monitoring and data recovery excavations).
- Accuratelyidentifyhistoric and prehistoric artifacts and features.
- Assist with cultural resource records searches, laboratory analysis tasks, and other office work, as needed.
- Adhere to the safety program and look out for the safety of others, promptly communicating and mitigating safety hazards.
- Work independently in a responsible manner.
- Follow instructions and ask informed questions.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of relevant experience
- Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background screening, and have access to reliable transportation.
- Conduct fieldwork for long hours in various environments including, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and rugged terrain.
- Able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Available for fieldwork on local projects and for fieldwork requiring extended travel (staying in a hotel for up to 2 weeks at a time).
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field, preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Field School.
- Experience with a range of field methodologies; including survey, testing, excavation, and heavy equipment or ground disturbing activity monitoring is preferred. /li

Additional Information:
- Compensation based on qualifications and experience. Applications for more advanced positions will also be considered at a higher level on a case-by-case basis.
- Estimated time in the field is 90-100%
- Project schedules may often include up to 10-hour days, 6 days a week for extended periods.
