Role Overview
We’re seeking a Controls Programmer in Ventura, CA to program and support commercial building automation systems for high-efficiency facility operations.
ImpactDeliver tailored BAS programming and integration for diverse commercial environments
Ensure seamless system startup and commissioning to minimize delays
Enhance operational performance through precise controls logic
Reduce client service costs with well-tested, efficient installations
Program building automation systems (primarily Niagara/N4)
Perform point-to-point checkout and functional testing of control systems
Create and modify graphics, sequences, and user interfaces
Support commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting for new and retrofit systems
Integrate diverse systems (HVAC, lighting, security) into unified BAS platforms
Collaborate with field techs and engineers to resolve integration issues
Maintain documentation, drawings, and version control for programs
Ensure code meets safety, quality, and client specifications
Must-Haves
5+ years in building automation controls (commercial projects)
N4 certification (Niagara
4)Proficient in BAS programming, graphics, and integration
Experience in startup, commissioning, and field-level troubleshooting
Local to Santa Maria area with stable work history
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with multiple BAS platforms (Tridium, Distech, Siemens, etc.)
Background in HVAC/mechanical systems
Familiarity with installation and service tasks
Strong documentation and organizational skills
