Job Summary
Under close supervision, performs a variety of trainee‑level law enforcement functions for the City of Riverside Police Department. This is a work training program for college students who are preparing for a career in law enforcement.
Responsibilities- Determines classes of crime and collects evidence.
- Prepare detailed police reports.
- Initiates and issues parking citations.
- Assists officers policing special events.
- Assists in crime scene security.
- Assists support personnel with clerical duties as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) semester units at an accredited college or university and maintain a minimum of a 2.0 or “C” grade point average.
Special Requirement:
Minimum age of 18 years required with a maximum age of 24 years.
Medical Category:
Group 3
Necessary Special Requirement:
Possession of an appropriate, valid class “C” California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
