Overview
The County of Riverside's Medical Records Department seeks to fill multiple Medical Records Technician II positions.
Responsibilities- Abstract and provide information from patient medical or health and vital records in response to authorized requests from agencies, hospitals, mortuaries, and individuals.
- Assemble, evaluate, and ensure completeness and timeliness of entries in patient medical and vital records.
- Work with professional medical personnel to maintain quality control of records.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education:
Completion of a course in medical terminology from an accredited college or university OR completion of training from a recognized occupational training program (which included medical terminology) as a medical assistant or a closely related field.
Experience:
Two years of clerical experience working in a medical or mental health records department or equivalent experience such as one year equivalent to a Medical Records Technician I with Riverside County. Knowledge of technical terminology, standard medical nomenclature, and laws, rules and regulations pertaining to medical records.
Ability to:
Understand and follow complex written and oral instructions; review patient medical records and abstract requested medical information; perform general clerical work; spell correctly; use excellent oral and written communication skills; effectively work with the public and professional medical personnel.
The classification's rate of pay will be set in accordance with California Senate Bill 525 requirements for applicable departments.
Work ScheduleWork schedule will be discussed during the interview.
