Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Administrative Operations, the Business Systems Analyst provides analytical, technical, and project management support for the Holistic Health Division, which encompasses the Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, Case Management, SWIFT Crisis Mobile Response, and The Well, Health Education and Promotion departments. The incumbent leverages data and technology to enhance clinical and administrative operations, drives data‑informed decision‑making by designing and maintaining dashboards, compiles and interprets EMR data, and reports on health trends, productivity metrics, and service outcomes.

Acting as the liaison between Holistic Health and Information Technology Solutions (ITS), the analyst coordinates system improvements, ensures end‑user needs are met, and manages IT‑related projects that enhance efficiency, service delivery, and student well‑being outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply technical expertise and business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate, and define complex system scope and objectives, conduct workflow analyses, needs assessments, and functional specifications, and translate business requirements into actionable project plans.
  • Serve as the administrative project manager for large‑scale technology projects, including clinical system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements within the EMR (Epic/PNC) and related applications; develop project timelines, coordinate testing and validation, and ensure successful rollout and adoption.
  • Extract, analyze, and visualize data from Epic/PNC, other health information systems, and Student Information Systems to provide actionable insights on student health trends, utilization patterns, and service outcomes; develop dashboards and reports to monitor productivity metrics, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Gather, analyze, and prepare and summarize recommendations for approval of business process and procedural documentation; recommend and implement changes in processes and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Provide support and training on new applications; guide and advise less‑experienced Business Systems Analysts.
Requirements
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience Requirements: 4–7 years of related experience; demonstrated experience with Epic or other enterprise EMR systems; strong analytical skills in developing data visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, or Epic Slicer Dicer); ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver results in a complex healthcare or university environment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience within a university, student health, or behavioral health setting.
  • Preferred: Project Management or EPIC certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM); experience with SQL, data integration, and dashboard development; familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, and healthcare compliance regulations.
