• Plan, schedule, organize, assign, train, certify, and supervise Harbor Patrol, Lifeguard, and volunteer crew operations.

• Evaluate staff, give coaching, discipline, and performance improvement.
• Lead in maintaining equipment and budget preparation.
• Participate in strategic planning and program development.
• Respond to emergencies, act as liaison with County EMS, and serve as command during incidents.
• Attend Harbor Commission meetings, prepare reports, explain policies, and serve as acting Harbor Manager when needed.

Required:

High school graduate + five years of experience as Harbor Patrol Officer or equivalent in law enforcement, fire, or marine safety. Current valid California Class C driver’s license.

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field; certifications in First Aid, CPR, Boating Safety, Law Enforcement, and OUPV‑Operator.

Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to weather, noise and chemicals. Willingness to work irregular hours and weekends.
