Pay Range: $22.96 - $28.70 SXX.XX / hour

The Assistant General Manager works closely with the GM, leads by example, and oversees daily operations to ensure a fantastic experience for every member and staff member.

• Assist in leading a team of 20-30 employees toward superior customer service, cleanliness, and culture.
• Collaborate with the GM to address escalated employee concerns in partnership with HR.
• Work with the team on member billing inquiries, guiding difficult interactions, and escalating to the GM when necessary.
• Establish and maintain proactive cross‑departmental communication for fitness operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with the GM to develop staff through one‑on‑one conversations, performance reviews, and coaching documentation including termination.
• Run daily operations such as scheduling lunch breaks and maintaining appropriate staff levels on shift, ensuring club quality assurance, and completing opening and closing duties.
• Maintain proficiency in all amenities, membership inquiries, fitness programs, and equipment functions.
• Recruit and onboard new talent by conducting phone screens and in‑person interviews.
• Secure inventory processes by preparing for weekly and monthly counts, ordering, restocking, and organizing new products.

Required

• 2+ years of experience in customer service
• 2+ years of experience leading a team
• Ability to work varied hours, weekends, and opening/closing shifts as needed
• Exceptional verbal and social communication skills with a teamwork mindset
• Positive attitude and composure under pressure
• Ability to multi‑task and handle shifting priorities
• Service‑based attitude and ability to receive and deliver feedback
• Extreme attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Read, write, and speak English clearly
• Walk and climb stairs within the club
• Bend, kneel, and perform repetitive arm movements
• Stand for long periods
• Perform repetitive phone work, typing, and computer operations
• Lift at least 50 lbs

Preferred

• High school graduate or GED
• Bachelor’s degree or ongoing education
• Background in sports or fitness
