Assembly
As an Assembler you will work within a team to to build Walker Evans shocks from start to completion. In this role, you’ll utilize various hand and power tools, following work instructions to achieve our Polaris quality standards. If you enjoy being a part of a team and using your problem-solving skills, then this is the role for you.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of products with complex functions requiring independent judgment
- Understand and follow established procedures and processes to safely produce quality parts
- Recognize, communicate and document safety concerns
- Troubleshoot and adjust to build a quality product
- Perform housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized
- Complete work documentation accurately such as production orders, tags, and quality sheets
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred but not required
- Technical Degree within a related field from an accredited institution or 0-2 years of related mechanical assembly experience
- Must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within mechanical assembly
- Related manufacturing experience is preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Required Physical Demands:
- Routinely lifts up to 40 pounds individually
- Works in multiple positions during a shift
- Ability to stand for a 10 hour shift
Environmental Exposures:
- Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to hot conditions
- Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes
- Moderate noise level
- Occasionally exposed to oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles and sharp edged materials
Safety Requirements:
- Exposed to hazards/risks that require body protection (gloves, pants, steel toes, sleeves, safety glasses, etc.)
Pay for this position is $19/hr.
The starting pay range for California is $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, plus eligibility for
overtime.
Individual
pay and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
